A Friend Closer Than a Brother

Do you have a no-makeup friend? I do.

Generally speaking, I would rather die than leave the house without real clothes and makeup on or my hair done--if anything can be done for spaghetti hair.

But I do have a core group of friends (and sisters!) that I'm comfortable with in less than the public face. They are the friends that love me whether or not I'm pretty or my life is put together perfectly.

If I say I'm "fine," they know if I really am.

This is the group that provides an anchor in my life. They speak truth when it hurts to hear it.

I could live without quite a few things in life, but I would be absolutely poor without my no-makeup friends.
