Love In the Home

Front door
Not my picture. Mine aren't this good.

What makes a house a home?

My sister posed a version of that question on Facebook, and instead of answering there, I'm going to respond here.

Obviously, love is the first answer that comes to mind. Love plays out in kindness, respect, and consideration for others.

Love draws boundaries where they are needed.

Love comforts grief.

Love gives the benefit of the doubt.

Love spurs others toward good, productive behavior rather than allowing negative behaviors to have a home. In other words, love won't enable bad behaviors.

Love will not manipulate, lie, or cheat.

Love serves others.

Love in the heart, spilling out into the home, can turn an ugly space into something beautiful.
