This is Mom's version of fast food. Arby's and Wendy's adds up fast when Kal has tennis matches after school 3 times a week and needs a filler-upper bit to eat in that split second of time between picking him up from school and the bus of young tennis players leaving the Junior High.
Kal made sure to gobble down that embarrassing peanut butter sandwich before any cool kids saw him. The can of Coke was cool, though, and he felt fine taking that out to the tables where the other boys were waiting.
Don't judge the nutritive value of the picture above. I don't always let him guzzle pop, but he does sometimes when he's about to have a match.
I never quite know what I'm watching with sports. Kris and Kal have both tried to explain the rules to me for whatever the current sports season is.
Tennis has something to do with love.
Kris made chili and cornbread yesterday. Now that Fall is here officially, we're allowed to do that.
Actually, Kara made the cornbread all by herself while I was with Kal at his match. She's a great little baker. I will note that she used our favorite recipe, not a Jiffy mix.
We're down to the last bit of camping laundry to do. I'm so thankful to have a washer and dryer, especially when there's a mountain of laundry to wash.
I regularly thank God for the wonderful machines and conveniences in my house: the vacuum, the dishwasher, the washer and dryer, running water, electricity. Even though it's still work to put them into use, it would be much harder work without them.
Off to start the rest of my day.
